We are on the home stretch, and after Monday, April 20, there will be just three legislative days remaining in the 2010 session. The House sets its schedule by resolution, and House Resolution 1995 tentatively places the last day of session, Sine Die, on Thursday, April 29.

When the General Assembly concludes its 34th legislative day on Monday, April 12, we will have only six days remaining in the 2010 regular session. Over the next few days, I hope to see significant headway on this year's and next year's budgets, transportation reforms, and ethics reform.

The gap in the budget is still a significant one, but both chambers are working diligently to find ways to close it without increasing the tax burdens on Georgians.
